Sub for Santa

As we were walking through the business building a couple days ago, a friend flagged us down and asked if we would like to sign up for sub for santa. We were literally running to class because we were already late so I told him to sign us up and email us what we need to get. I'll admit I sort of forgot about it until I received his email the next day. We were assigned to a little 4 year old girl in need of a new jacket. Oh, and by the way her favorite color is pink. Obviously I was completely smitten. There are 2 things I love SO much in this world--little girls and the color pink. We went shopping yesterday for a little pink jacket and let me tell ya....there is probably nothing that will make you want kids more than shopping for little girls clothing! So darling. I wanted to buy the whole store.

Suddenly, there it was.. the perfect pink jacket for a 4-year old girl. You better believe I started crying haha (no not pregnant) just so filled with love for this cute little gal I will never meet. This is really the Christmas spirit-love. I haven't had this feeling of overwhelming love for a complete stranger for a long time, but ever since we bought the jacket I can't help but feel love for everyone around me. so... LOVE YOU STRANGER! It was hard for me to part with the jacket this morning as I gave it to the student counsel who will deliver the gifts to the children. Boy...if only I could be a fly on the wall when she opens it Christmas morning:) magical. Does anyone have other service-based Christmas traditions they do as a family?

I hope this post doesn't come off as bragging...like 'oooh look what I did!' I was just so touched by the whole experience I had to share. After all, this blog is about our life adventures.

On another note: THIS IS BRAGGING...my cute little brother is competing at the Nike National Cross-country race in Oregon this weekend. I am so proud of him and all that he has accomplished. He is a sophomore at Davis and runs varsity<--see bragging:) Good luck Logan we love you and are cheering for you!!
wahoo go #660!
