Symptoms: Whew...I have officially turned a corner. A very long, painful corner unfortunately and I feel like the end is near. I've been in a LOT of pain in my hips and by the end of the day and can hardly walk. It's been a rollercoaster ride of emotions and a lesson in endurance. I've been working out at the gym 3 times a week but have had to stop lately and it is killing me to have to rest so much. My body is just REALLY feeling pregnant. I also have been getting more stretch marks that look like they are bleeding under the skin...yikes. Staying positive though...and sending out good vibes that baby might come a little early🙏
Best Moments Lately: This pregnancy has been FLYING by! (although it still feels like I've been pregnant forever haha). It was so fun to welcome Uncle Logan home and go on vacation with my family last week--although we did have a crazy labor scare--see below). Our house sale fell through 😨 which was crazy, but it sold again and the terms are SO much better because we get to stay until the baby is born. So it was really a blessing in disguise! Now that we are staying longer I have started working on baby James' nursery. It has been very therapeutic for me to work on the nursery and has made the whole thing seem more real--he is coming so soon! I LOVED seeing his cute little face on the 3D ultrasound a couple of weeks ago. We went in for a follow up appointment because baby had some fluid in his kidneys and the best part was the extra long ultrasound. The ultrasound tech was floored however, because he was measuring about 4 weeks ahead of schedule....he is one big baby😟
Hardest Moments Lately: The hardest thing lately has just been dealing with my body. It just feels SO done...but I still have so far to go! I feel about how I did at 39 weeks pregnant with Will, and I'm only 34. Last week when we were on vacation with the MacKays in Brian Head I woke up in the middle of the night almost yelling out in pain from contractions. They were strong and close together and I knew I needed to hustle and get to the hospital. I woke up Mike, who woke up my mom, who woke up my brother who helped Mike carry me to the car. My mom, Mike, and I raced down the canyon to the Cedar City hospital which was about 40 minutes away. My mom was worried I was going to give birth in the car I was in so much pain😬. However, as we continued to drive my contractions eased up and started to come less frequently. By the time we reached the hospital I felt fine. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. "Are you kidding me!?" I thought. What was that!? Was it all in my head? I was so embarrassed that we had rushed down and wanted to turn around and go back home. Thankfully, however, my mom and Mike made me go in and get checked out. Turns out, I was in pre-term labor and actively contracting (although I wasn't feeling it near as bad as before). The nurse gave me an IV with a ton of water and hoped that those would stop my contractions before they gave me labor-stopping drugs. I was severely dehydrated and the IV worked like a charm. When we were about to leave it dawned on me that I drank a giant water bottle the whole way to the hospital, which is why my contractions eased up! It was a wild adventure, but one I wouldn't want to repeat. I'm just SO glad little man is still cooking. Hang in there baby!
Things I'm looking forward to: Having this baby! I really am so excited 😁. Also looking forward to being done with the pregnancy part---it's been great....but I'm ready to be done haha. I am looking forward to baby James nursery coming together and for those first few weeks with a brand new spirit in our home. I am SO looking forward to watching Will become a big brother and all the changed (good and hard) that will come with that.
