Friday Five

1. Grandpa Ren. Last Saturday we had the awesome opportunity to watch my cute grandpa scrub in and enter the OR one last time. Grandpa Ren is a 94 year old former orthopedic surgeon and he was able to visit a hospital near his nursing home. It was such a special experience to be there when he arrived at the hospital.  Some of my extended family and members of the nursing home arrived and held up a sign for Grandpa Ren welcoming him back to the operating room. There was media coverage when he arrived and you can watch the news segment HERE. So proud of my cute grandpa and everything he has accomplished in his life. When Mike and I lived in Provo we would visit grandpa once a week and make him dinner. We loved hearing stories about his life and adventures in his career.

2. My 26th Birthday. Last week we celebrated my 26th birthday. It was the first birthday where I felt exceedingly old. Something about getting into my upper 20's has me totally wigged out. However, cute Mike made my birthday a memorable one. He surprised me by taking me out to dinner on the night of my birthday. My cute sister showed up at our house and watched Will so we could sneak away to Log Haven. He also got me two adorable side tables for our bedroom! Mike...he's the best, that one. Will was the cutest this birthday too, he kept singing "happy birthday to you mommy" at the top of his lungs.
The luckiest lady this side of the Mississippi
Log Haven with my love. 7 birthdays together...SEVEN. so crazy

TWENTY-SIX yo
3. Last week we went to a corn maze for FHE. It was so fun to spend time as a family and relax for the night. It was also our last FHE with Kaden living with us. We are 9 years apart so he was still quite young when I moved out of the house, so it was great to spend time with him and have him live in our home.
4. After almost 130 days in the NICU, our sweet little twin nephew and niece came home! It has been such a long journey for their little family and we are so happy for them. We were able to visit little Grace and hold her. She felt so little and tiny in my arms. I cannot CANNOT believe that Will was her size when he came back from the hospital. It made me miss newborn hood something fierce. I can't wait to see these little people grow and put their scary beginning behind them. Also...Mike with a baby girl😍😍😍

5. Life Lately...
My number 5 is just a recap of photos from our life lately.
hanging out with my sweet friend Darci and our kiddos at the park. It is so crazy to think that these little people are our children.
I feel silly and self conscious about this one...BUT I am so stinking proud of myself. I lost 70 lbs last year. SEVENTY. After Will was born I never believed I could get as fit as I was before I got pregnant. BUT...I think I am finally there. My baby is almost 2 and I couldn't be prouder. Thanks to Mike for supporting my dreams. Thanks to Will for being such a sweetheart and being willing to stay in the gym daycare.
Sunday photos with my favorite fellas
Playing their "guitars" 😂
seeing cute mom and dad off to Italy for 2 weeks--they had an awesome time!
I never want to forget how much Will loves to clean the house. He cracks me up that kid
